Installing a designer hand print wallpaper in the West Village NYC

Here is a project that Daniel and myself recently completed in the West Village, New York City.
The wallpaper is from GROW HOUSE GROW  (located in Brooklyn)
Pattern name is  Captain Smith
colorway: Promenade
Designer Katie Deedy

Here is the wallpaper as it comes from the factory, comeplete with selvage edge. The selvage serves the purpose of protecting the edge of the wallpaper.

Exquiste fine wallpaper, hand screened 4 color.

We map out the room according to the width of the wallpaper and paint the seam areas the dark background color of the wallpaper.

Color blocks on the selvage edge. This shows the four color screens used in this design.

Join marks on the selvage edge. An indicator where the wallpaper needs to match up.

Pattern name on the selvage edge.

Trim marks on the selvage edge. The trim marks indicate where the wallpaper needs to be dry-trimmed with a straightedge on a wallpaper table.

Wall Covering NYC

When it comes to design and decorating options in New York City the use of wallpaper/wall coverings should definitely be considered. Since the invention of wallpaper by the Chinese in 200 B.C. wall covering has undergone a complete revolution. There have never been more wallcovering options than there are today.

Welcome to my blog!
My name is David McCauley, I am a professional wallpaper hanger in NYC. Some thirty years ago I graduated from the trade school: US School of Professional Paperhanging in Rutland Vermont.
Prior to learning the trade of paperhanging  I studied interior design. Now, with the experience over the years of  having installed many thousands of rolls of wallpaper, I considered myself qualified to  assist you with your wall covering needs.
